Our Valelands Campaign Nentir Vale Map
"An entire century has passed since the great human Empire of Nerath fell, leaving the Nentir Vale a desolate borderland region populated by "points of light"—isolated towns and villages surrounded by a monster infested wilderness. The mighty empires of the dragonborn and tieflings that existed long before Nerath also lie in ruins, their legacies lost beneath the untamed land.

The roads are dangerous, overgrown, and plagued by marauding bandits, evil humanoids, foul beasts and much worse. Traveling between civilized areas like the trading town of Fallcrest and the dwarven citadel of Hammerfast is a peril-filled journey in itself.

Ruined keeps and abandoned manors, remnants of a forgotten age, litter the countryside, ripe for adventurers to explore and claim as their own. This land does not have a powerful kingdom to enforce its laws or fend off the growing evils. It needs heroes who are brave enough to venture into the darkness and face the lurking monsters and evil cults that await them."

« B/X D&D »

B/X D&D stands for Basic/Expert D&D, which is a two-part boxed-set ruleset originally published by TSR in the year 1981.

Key features:
B/X Dungeons & Dragons is an edition of the original Dungeons & Dragons game, it was designed to provide rules and flexible procedures for fantasy adventures.

• The Basic Set (Red/Magenta Box): This was edited by Tom Moldvay in the year 1981, this set covers dungeon crawling adventures for character levels 1 through 3.
• The Expert Set (Blue Box): This was edited by David Cook and Steve Marsh in 1981, this set expands the game into wilderness travel, hex crawling, and high-level play up to level 14 (and even beyond).
• Race as Class: In B/X, non-human races like Dwarves, Elves, Halflings etc function as their own character classes rather than separate choices from a particular profession.
• Procedural Play: The B/X D&D game system relies on strict mechanics for tracking time, wandering monsters, and resource management.
• Reaction & Morale: Dungeon Masters use explicit dice rolls to see how monsters react to the party (instead of assuming instant combat is the first course of action) and if monsters lose the will to fight and flee.
• Clear Presentation: B/X Dungeons & Dragons divides the game between the Basic & Expert rulebooks, making the system more approachable for beginners while gradually introducing a more broader campaign play.
• House Ruling: Because B/X D&D shares core foundations with other systems like BECMI, Old-School Essentials, and early Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (1st edition), and it is very easy to add many house rules, new classes from other systems, new monsters, advanced spells, and various other mechanics from other compatible systems.

« About Our Adventures »

All of our adventures & campaigns will consist of adventures loosely tied together to create our long lasting campaigns. These adventures will work together to create "our own" Valelands campaign setting set within the world of Nerath.

We are always looking for more people that would like to join us that will be "dedicated" players & DMs.

We are very rusty to online play and have been away from the game for a long time so, if you can tolerate some mistakes being made while we learn then please give us a shout out.

If you would like to join us in our adventures, you can leave us a comment in our comment section located here.
