Jasper Lightfoot is barely 3 feet (0.9m) tall and just a little past his prime but, don't tell him that. He has stark white hair that is shoulder length which he keeps in a ponytail that hangs down his back and an unkempt beard that is also white, and two of his fingers on his right hand are missing after being severed during a failed trap disarming many years ago - he is also missing the tip of his pinky finger on his left hand . . . "another failed trap disarming".
When traveling he usually wears three daggers on his belt belt, a shortsword which he wears on his left hip, a shortbow which is strapped to his back but easily reached for quick use, two daggers which he has concealed on his back beneath his faded dark green cloak that are within easy reach and for clothing he can usually be seen wearing a tan sash, tanned leather sleeveless vest, a gray shirt, high tanned boots, and tanned leather riding gloves.
Jasper enjoys nothing so much as a good mug of fine brewed ale, smoking his pipe "which is always on his person" and fishing - he prefers to be enjoying all three at the same time. He can be quite subtle and equally crafty, though he is by no means cruel in any way, but when the time comes to make the hard decisions, he makes them without a second thought. He enjoys hearing stories of adventures and enjoys telling them even more. Jasper is easy going and easy to talk with but dislikes being called old - he will hear nothing of that. If asked, Jasper will tell you he is in his prime and has never felt better.
Jasper also has a serious side to him which is easily apparent when it is needed. He has grown wise over the course of his many years of living and has gained the ability to see things his friends often miss. Despite his aged appearance, his eyes remain sharp and clear and he never forgets a face. He is honest and loyal to a fault to his friends and will stand beside them to the end. To those around him, he seems like a grumpy old Halfling that is well past his prime, but this is merely a facade he likes to maintain to others. He enjoys whittling toys for children from pieces of wood which is gives away for free. He has a habit of talking to himself and is allergic to horses "which causes him to sneeze non-stop" - He also has a deep hatred for Orcs.
Jasper enjoys investigating new and undiscovered places, and is not afraid to take on the jobs most people will pass on. He does tend to be a little headstrong at times, acting before thinking "which explains his missing fingers" but over the years, he has gotten a little better with that issue. Times have been hard for him recently with work being hard to find. For the last year, he has been renting a room in the Gray Hare and taking odd jobs, whenever they present themselves. Jasper feels he has one more good run in him to trek out on one last adventure to earn enough gold to settle down and retire.
